I have been in the Network Marketing Industry for 4 years. It is an amazing business to be a part of because of the perks once you make it a success.
The first company I was with was an awesome company, great products, and very prominent. The only problem I had was I never even thought about choosing my business partner. I just joined and then quickly realized I wasn’t going to get the support I needed at all. You might say but Beverly, it was your business and that shouldn’t have mattered. My response is it did because I was a complete “Newbie” and needed training and guidance from my partner which she was unable or unwilling to provide.
My second company I joined because of the Leader that introduced me to it. It was obvious that He was going to give me the training and guidance I needed to succeed. That time I chose the leadership as well as the company.
What makes a good business partner? Here are a few characteristics I believe you should look for…
1. Person Of Passion – Do they use video so you can see and hear their passion as well as write it. Can you hear the belief in their voice? Online marketing should use video to connect.
2. Person of Vision - Do they believe in themselves enough to be your leader? Can you see their vision because of their attitude?
3. Fearless Person – They get out there and don’t care what people think. They add value to the market place. They go out of their way to help anyone, not just their team. They are not a quitter no matter how hard it gets because Network Marketing is NOT FOR SISSIES!
4. Compassionate Teacher – By this I mean they will use different methods for their team members. Everyone learns differently. Being a versatile educator. I learned that is mt 20 years as a school teacher. Many different learning styles.
5. Master Marketer - A person that loves the challenge of learning all the tricks of the trade. They take classes, learn the skills and put it to work for them and their team.Constantly learning to improve and grow.
6. Team Spirited Person – A great leader is unselfish and gives to her/his team. They want their team to succeed so helping them is a priority. Their success will equal to the team’s success.
How do you find these leaders?
Find the person you click with and watch what they do. Joining up with a successful person is important but also just as important is the team they are on. If the team is strong and helps its members then you are in the right place. Sometimes the newer leader is even a better choice because they are driven and will be even more willing to work with their team so success is met.
Look for the passion in them.
Look for the commitment to succeed.
Look for the person you feel you can communicate with easily.
Look for the leader you can learn from.
Success in any business happens when the leader is a Giver to their Team.

Hi Beverly,
Wow! You have such passion for your business & this shines through loud & clear! I luv what you stated, that you do not necessarily have to sign up with someone who is already at the top of a company, yet it is best to join a successful TEAM & someone who shares the characteristics that you have noted in your post. Thank you for sharing & I am excited about working with you and getting to know you better!

Hi Beverly,
You make a lot of good points. The first company I was with I signed up with a team that was successful but I didn’t have passion for that business and I failed. A couple years later I found the company I would have passion for but my upline was not experienced and I had to pave my own way. I am glad I stuck it out. I have been with that company for over 13 awesome years and enjoy real freedom network marketing can bring.

You are a hard worker to be able to do it without good up line support. You are the kind of person we all want in our business. You make a good point, even a good team will not make you successful IF you don’t work too.

Hi Beverly,
I think this is an important question because there are so many ‘people’ calling for our attention (and business). I do take time to get to know someone and look for several of the points you mentioned. I really like the point about the leader searching to learn more – I think that’s a point that’s overlooked. My friend Harry Shade, a Master Coach, mentioned this idea earlier this week because he’s always interested in learning more. I think wanting to grow and learn is the sign of a genuine leader.
Best,
Jennifer
