Hey Beverly you are exactly right when you say it’s not too late to complete or at least start toward any goal. What most people do when they get close to reaching the end of the year they don’t even begin, they believe it’s too late. I do have a suggestion to get off the year band wagon. The year was just created by man in the first place. Just extend your goal into next year and set a date for completion.

Hi Beverly,
Gosh, 2010 is going by waaaay too quickly!
I never set new years resolutions but I do set goals and those goals definitely need checking up on. I find that they can change as you get more and more in to a project/career, as you learn more about your path and evolve as a person.
I will certainly be making sure that I end 2010 on a high! Thank you for the kick up the backside I needed to keep myself in check! It’s too easy to drift along focusing on the work day to day but it’s essential to step back and see the bigger picture and keep our goals in sight!
I haven’t stopped by here for a while I must remember to do so more often, I like your positive spirit!
Kind regards,
Emma

Beverly, you’re right. Too many times, we say “I’ll wait until Monday to start the diet” Well, why not start right now? Same thing with all goals. Why wait until next year. Start today.

Beverly,
I’ll be working hard to finish off on a few goals the next two months. We can get off track a little or jump into new projects before completing the ones we have going! I fall into that category too many times.

So glad you asked

I get to talk about accomplishing a personal goal, i.e. losing 12 pounds in the last four weeks.
But I know that’s not what you were most interested in. However, I’m reminded of a time way-back-when I was inundated with a half dozen Huge Challenges. A wise friend suggested I just focus on one. When I did get that one taken care of, the rest were easy . . . so I’m counting on my business goals being accomplished in record time now.
Again, thanks for asking.

Any goal accomplished is worth being happy about! Congratulations on losing 12 lbs. I agree about focusing on one at a time but keep any others in view at the same time. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for this post. I have had a habit of setting yearly and monthly goals for several years. I use the monthly goals as stepping stones to my bigger goals. At the beginning of the month I make a list of goals. I write them in a notebook I keep. I have a goal to qualify for the rank of Platinum in my company. I am getting close but it may be in 2011.

Great reminder and challenge Beverly. I need to go do some goal getting now.

Today is the first day of the rest of my life. The progress of yesterday is really the foundation of the activities of today. Thank you for your call to action.
Today is THE ONLY DAY and way to make progress upon which great tomorrows are built.

You are doing a great job with your video marketing. Thanks so much for sharing this and the dreaded fact that 2010 is almost over. Actually, not so dreaded. I am looking forward to the new year. New beginnings, new friends and new opportunities. Thanks for sharing Beverly.

Beverly,
Great post and video. Really LOVE the distinction between “goal setting” and “goal getting”, very powerful! I agree, “just do it!”
Thanks so much,
Adam

Hi Beverly…
How come no one taught us how to write goals and plan for life in school?
So many people hate to write goals .. I must confess I too have struggled with them. But, I just got a book just for dreams and goals … so my 2011 is gonna rock! LOL! Great post, thanks!

I agree the schools should teach this as a required course.Teaching children how to set and attain goals would be so good for them.

Hi Beverly,
Thank you for your post although I have not reached my goals I have learned A LOT this year and am finally starting to put it into practice. I still have 6 weeks left to make something happen and I’m going to give it all I got but even if I don’t reach my goal I know without a doubt the 2011 is going to be even better! I look forward to reading more great posts.
God Bless,
Trish

Thank you for this post! I need to set my goals ASAP before the year ends.
I have always been one to say, “I will start on Monday.” Thinking about it, it is the silliest thing to do because it only prolongs things!
Thanks for this post. I needed the reminder!
