How To Have a No-Lose Mindset

Is making a decision hard for you? That is a big fear for many and it keeps us from moving ahead. Our fear of losing something holds us back.

The problem is we have been taught “Be Careful! You might make the wrong decision!” A wrong decision! Just the sound can bring terror to out hearts. We are afraid the wrong decision will deprive us of something—money, friends, lovers, status, or whatever the right decision is supposed to bring us.

Closely tied to this is our panic over making mistakes. Do you ever get like this? It is very common.

Let’s look at this and relate it to Network Marketing Businesses. The success rate in MLM is low. Why is that? Is it because the business model is terrible? Absolutely not!

A popular company just had some issues and the SEC shut them down while they are being investigated. Many people are being very critical of this company even before we hear the final decisions. I feel for the people that have lost money here. Many were making lots of money and for some, it was life saving. Was it a wrong decision to be a part of this company, some would say YES but thousands would have a different answer.

In the MLM World this kind of thing scares people and then they FEAR all MLM companies. Is that logical? My opinion is NO!

Network Marketing is a business just like any “Brick and Mortar” business without all the headache and overhead. No employees, no payroll to handle, no record keeping, etc. You do have partners and you work together to help your partners succeed and you should have team meetings to keep the team growing. Success or Failure depends on your efforts as long as the company is solid.

The way you think about outcomes and opportunities, is a critical factor in accepting a No-Lose Mindset. If we have a lack of trust in ourselves, our fears will take hold.

THE KNOWLEDGE THAT YOU CAN HANDLE ANYTHING THAT COMES YOUR WAY IS THE KEY TO ALLOWING YOURSELF TO TAKE HEALTHY, LIFE-AFFIRMING RISKS.

I have been reading a book called,Feel the Fear And Do it Anyway by Susan Jeffers.

Most of my ideas came from this book. I love it and highly recommend it. Get it now at Amazon at the link below.

We will not exceed in everything we attempt in life. That’s guaranteed! Win or Lose we just keep winning because of all the adventures we have enriched our lives with by continually moving forward.

Simply Begin! Keep working on it! There is a No-Lose Mindset wanting to get out.

    Hi Beverly,

What a great message. I have definitely found that my success in network marketing and in my life, have both increased exponentially when I learned to let go of fear, and just Do It Anyway.

I, like you, found it painful to see great people loose income in the latest MLM company shut down. But it reinforced a huge lesson that I know has saved me years of failure and frustration…

Because network marketing is a people business, we know that people don’t join companies and products, they join people whom they know, like and trust. Sometimes, because we are all human, we find ourselves overlooking key factors about companies (predictors of long-term success) that can help narrow the gap between success and failure. I refer to those key predictors as the 5 Pillars to Success, and we teach them for free in Mentoring for Free.

If you or any of your readers would like a free copy of a recorded telemarketing on the 5 Pillars to Success, please just contact me. I am an open resource of information and help where you never need to open your wallet.

    Hi Beverly,

thanks for this great message! And I totally agree: successful people are those who don’t quit, despite their fears, the obstacles they encounter and despite all the naysayers.

It is true that you cannot predict everything in MLM marketing. However failure depends on several things and one of them is your attitude, how you see and interpret what happens in your life. I have learnt that there’s no such thing as failure: all the negative experiences, all the things that go wrong are indeed opportunities for us to learn something more and new about ourselves, about people, about our business. When you start seeing your life experiences from this perspective, you will not stop fear nor worry, but you will never let fear or worry stop you!

    To your prosperity

Loved and therefore unreservedly endorse your recommendation of Susan Jeffers’ book. Getting a better understanding of myself in relation to the basic fears as outlined in Napoleon Hill’s “Think And Grow Rich” was a ‘breakthrough moment’ for me in my life. Basically, no one is fearless and what it takes is courage, one definition of which is “facing your rears and doing it anyway”. And what is courage but faith in action. May your word bring insight and courage to your readers – Keep the faith…

Beverly it is so very true that none of us should talk about that company until all the investigations are done. But it should not hold others back either. No matter what choice you make when it comes to a business, when you start to work it, you learn an amazing amount. So how can anything that helps you to grow and learn be bad. No matter the outcome the gain that you get from working a business such as MLM is fully worth whatever risk you might be looking at. It gives you a real world schooling and we pay thousands upon thousands to go to college. Most the MLMs will not cost you nearly that much to gain a really education when it comes to learn how to market a business.

    Hi Beverly
In light of the events this past week, this was really perfect. The professional arena we chose is “risky business” so to speak, and if we remained paralyzed by fear of all the things that COULD go wrong, man…we’d surely go no place at all!
It is said that all the success is to be had outside your comfort zone, and I know this to be true from personal experience. I used to play it very safe years ago, before I met Larry, and did not “put my ass on the line” for my vision, goals etc. It’s a very freeing feeling when you can go for your dreams, and be bold, while smashing through those fears along the way. The growth is huge.
Staying stuck and using confusion as an excuse is another one that stops us from moving forward. Confusion is nothing more than fear masked as a “stall tactic” putting off what you don’t want to do!
I say JUST DO IT! You feel so much stronger, more confident and capable.
Everyone can see it and feel it emmenating from you.

    Hi Beverly

I know it all go back to childhood when we would grab at everything and try to eat it, but so much of this is just “trained in” to us all of our lives.

It reminds me of an episode of the Simpson…..

    Bear with me…..

Marie was looking after Rod and Tod, and had taken them to an indoor climbing centre.

One was doing well, getting quite high, and Marge was encouraging him to climb higher.

Ned arrived, was alarmed at seeing one of his boys so high (indoor climbing centre….. Hmmm) he called out, God, (I think) be careful YOU WILL FALL!

He got nervous and fell, only the eight inches you can fall being top roped, but mentally, he fell all the way.

In the cartoon he was later encouraged to climb, saved the day, was the hero.

In real life we sit, at the bottom, without any encouragement to get up, try again, with the possibility of succeeding.

Only some of us try, to see if we can do it, and for us, they write the books for!

    Hi Beverly,

I also agree with your message. I hate the way some people have approached this unfortunate incident but does that mean you have to be afraid of everything! Absolutely not because there are risks everywhere you turn whether it’s online or offline.

Especially for those who are entrepreneurs, they are risk takers. Not everything will turn out like we would hope but for the most part it’s a win/win situation.

I know for me that I’m where I belong and will take the ups with the downs. Great message you shared here and love the video at the end.

    Hello Beverly,

Successful people are decision oriented people.

My belief is People who cannot take decisions cannot succeed. Because success require actions, and we can’t take action useless we take decision.

So, The key to success is, take decision as well as take actions.

Remember: The decision you made yesterday got you where you are now, and the decision you’ll make today will decide your tomorrow.

The possibility of decision going wrong always remains. Still we have to take decision because it’s the only way to craft our future. if you don’t take decision then you’ll be where you are always.

So, take decisions and don’t worry about results.

BTW, Thanks for inspiring post Beverly. I loved it.

Any decision has to be better than making no decision. Fear often prevents people from taking opportunities. There’s the other saying that puts people off ‘if it looks too good to be true it probably is’. In life there are risk takers and those who can’t face taking a risk because of fear. The risk takers may not always get what they aimed for, but at least they had a go.

    Enjoy the journey.

Hi Beverly, What a great way to explain how our decisions, whether we feel we have made a good or bad one are essential for us to grow. There are no good or bad decisions I think. I feel that being courageous enough to venture into a new business, this act alone is a victory…no matter the outcome.

Great post and lots of important things for people to consider too. Love that you have highlighted:

THE KNOWLEDGE THAT YOU CAN HANDLE ANYTHING THAT COMES YOUR WAY IS THE KEY TO ALLOWING YOURSELF TO TAKE HEALTHY, LIFE-AFFIRMING RISKS.

We take risks every single day without even a 2nd thought – some work some do not work, but we never consider that and just take the risk anyway – yet when we bring the thoughts of “will this work” “can I do this” “I am not sure” into play we see the risk and step back with fear and start to tell ourselves stories or the worst case scenario which then holds us stuck –

If we discover a different story and allow ourselves to look at the possibilities of the outcome as we take a risk and look at the “This could enable me to” “I may achieve…” “I will have the ability to” before taking that risk, both putting it into action and the outcomes are always positive, even when the risk does not work the way you expect – it becomes a positive expereince.
