Many times we take time for others but neglect our own needs. Do you find that you do that? What can you do this week to be kinder to yourself? How will you practice kindness on yourself this week?
Before I head off to have some fun walking my dog on this beautiful day I thought I would give you some tips on what you might do this week for YOU.
1. Slow down your thoughts.
Over thinking creates tension and stress on your body. The speed of your breathing measures the speed of your thinking. Relax. Try some yoga, read a good book or just sit and listen to music.
2. Be kinder to your digestion.
Get maximum nourishment out of all your meals by promising yourself to never eat whilst walking, standing up or doing something else at the same time. Avoid multi-tasking while you eat.
3. Be kinder to your largest organ, your skin.
Treat your skin to a daily body brush to improve the removal of waste from your body. Use only natural or organic products. Feed your skin with regular doses of vitamin D – exposure your skin to the sun daily.
4. Be kinder to your nervous system.
Stop rushing through your day on full throttle. Add pockets of down time to give your body a chance to unwind, de-stress and settle. Create 2 minutes of “priority you” time every hour.
5. Be kinder to your feet.
Go barefoot. Give your feet the freedom and space they deserve. Wear comfortable shoes, take a relaxing foot bath or massage the souls of your feet before bed with a little oil therapy. Exercise your feet, whilst sitting at your desk by rotating your ankles, taking off your shoes and allowing your toes to wiggle. Alternately go grab a small ball and roll the arch of your foot over the ball, then give your toes a toe hug by spreading your fingers in-between each of your toes and wiggle them all about.
6. Be kinder to yourself:
Monitor your thoughts and reduce the negative chit chat you may have about yourself. Grab yourself an affirmation to replace your negative conversation with “I am happy healthy and whole” A Louise Hay affirmation. My personal favorite at the moment, “Every cell in my body is loved and healthy”
7. Be kinder to your sense of touch:
It’s time to hug more often, hug loud, hug well and hug longer. In fact experts say that we need at least 4 hugs a day minimum for survival and 8 hugs a day for maintenance. A hug supports our emotional well being and releases lots of little happy vibes into your body.
8. Be Kind to your body by moving.
Go for a walk, enroll in a yoga class, try walking meditation, buy a push bike or dance like no one is looking when you clean your home.
9. Fuel your body well:
Make time throughout your day to eat well and stay hydrated.
10. Be kinder to your smile:
Laugh more. Don’t take life too seriously. Laughing is great for your health, it’s one of the easiest and cheapest ways to relax your body. Laughter helps you feel young again, they even say its anti-aging.
Have a fabulous week and remember, Focus on YOU. You deserve it!

Love it Beverly!
I think the top one I need to remember is to slow down my thinking. To step back, take a moment to breath and realize there is so much going on that if I am still I will hear it.
Ahhhh, that feels better already.

Hi Beverly
They are great tips- thank you!. I am becoming much better at some of them but still have a way to go – especially with thinking and breathing.
Thank you

It is easier sometimes to be kind to everyone else and neglect yourself. We must take care of ourselves so we can show compassion to others. Thanks for commenting.
Have a Wonderful Day!

Hi Beverly,
Too often we worry about other things and other people that we forget to look after ourselves. Some people pay more attention to their car or their pets and completely neglect their own needs! This is a great reminder for everyone(myself included)to take note of.
Cheers,

Hi Beverly,
being kind to yourself is very important and it took me a while to learn that and in some areas I am still learning it.
I love the way you describe the different points.
2 Minutes every hour sounds a good point especially for those in an j.o.b.
I need a day occasionally staying home and not seeing anyone, tuning into me.
Thank you so much for the article!
