Having trouble balancing your workout schedule and spending time with your children? Being a parent can be exhausting, not to mention time-consuming. But there’s good news: If you get your children interested in your new lifestyle, you won’t feel like you’re choosing anymore! Involving your family in your workouts and better eating habits allows you to communicate with them and spend time together, and it allows all of you to reap the benefits of a healthy lifestyle!
Here are some ideas that might help you…
Challenge your family to “Master Our Kitchen”. By that I mean take everything out of your pantry and food cabinets. Make two lists, BAD additives and Artificial Stuff, and together with your children read the labels. Put the bad ones in a box and donate it to a food shelter and put the good things back in your pantry. I believe this will be an eye opener for you and your children. I had a friend tell me their teenager was reading the label on her cereal box soon after they did this and she actually only poured the recommend amount in her bowl because she wanted to make sure she was eating the healthiest portion.
Children will pick up on this quickly if you start it off as a family project and the adults model good choices for their family.
As far as activity, go on walks together, ride bikes, just get up and get them away from the television.
I hope that this post will help to inspire you to do this at your house with your children. Children can adjust to changes if you make them part of the process and make it fun for them. Also challenge them to find healthy recipes for you to try so you can find things to eat that are healthy, fresh, and good tasting for all. There are many great recipes online. Make it a game to find 2 recipes a week that are healthy for the family to try.
Why don’t you try to follow this with your family? Let me know how it goes. Good luck!

You have so many great points here Beverly. Your children will mirror what you do, including nutrition.
