When I taught school,I was always telling my little 6 and 7 year old students that they could become anything they wanted,IF they worked hard. I told them that hard work and persistence would pay off for them. One of my favorite stories to read to them was The Little Engine That Could. Do you remember that story? Here it is on video for those of you that may not have read it before.

Just like this engine, if we keep going when our businesses get tough and NEVER quit, we too can reach our goals. Believe you can just like The Little Engine. Tell yourself, I Think I Can, I Think I Can… or even better say, I Know I Can,I Know I Can….

Every person reading this post can meet their goals with the correct Tools, Education, Leadership and Team. Sometimes you might need to ask for help from a coach and that’s okay. Never Quit and always move forward and you WILL SUCCEED just like The Little Engine.
A good friend of mine Frank Profeta, has a great post on this same subject. He even gives away a copy of the book titled As A Man Thinketh. Check his post too.
Please leave your comments below. I look forward to reading them.

Have you ever had regrets?
Have you ever wished you could turn back time and change something you did or said?

If the answer to these questions is no, I applaud you for being such an awesome human being.
If you answered yes, then this is for you.

Contrary to popular belief, we cannot control our time here on earth. We can be the healthiest person on the planet and still leave this earth in a second if it is our time. Only God knows our final day on earth.

Being aware of that, we must live each day like it could be our last. By that I don’t mean doing crazy things. I mean make sure your family and friends, the ones most precious to you, are never left with angry words between you.

We all get angry with our family members. It’s human nature to disagree. Things will happen that will make you angry but… it doesn’t mean your love is gone. At that moment you may feel that but as times passes, you may even forget why you got so mad.

During these times, watch your words. What if you said something to your spouse, your parents, or your child that was really unkind and they left with those unkind words in their thoughts. The next day you get a call that they are dead, would you have regrets?

My husband died unexpectedly in a car accident 9 years ago. We hugged and kissed that morning as usual and within 30 minutes after he left I got the call of the accident. I have always been thankful we had a great last night together and a pleasant morning too. I had no regrets just sadness because he was gone.

A friend of mine that I met through Social Media just lost her 9 year old daughter a week ago. She fell out of a kayak at Lake Michigan and as of this moment, her body has not been found. What a Tragedy for this family. I can’t even imagine what they are going through. I pray there are no regrets here. Do you think they woke up that day thinking this was the last day she would be alive? She was 9 years old and healthy so I am sure that never crossed their mind.

Make each day count.

Stay connected with your loved ones.
Call your parents often, even daily as they grow older. Forgive them if they have disappointed you.

Remember, everyone will die sometime so don’t put off telling someone you are sorry or that you forgive them. Bitterness will hurt you the most.

Forgiveness is the best choice anyone can make.

Will you have regrets if your mom or dad died today?
Will you have regrets if your child died today?
Will you have regrets if your spouse died today?

You may not have tomorrow. You may only have today.

This was weighing heavy on my heart and I wanted to share. Comments are welcome.

Do you have the right mind set to become rich?
Do you have the right mind set to be successful?
What is keeping you from reaching your goals or dreams? Could it be your mindset?

These questions were presented to me at a seminar recently and it struck a chord with me. Maybe I was blocking my own success because my mind was messing with me.

Have you heard “The VOICE” say:

1.You aren’t as good as _______.
2.Look at how everyone else has sponsored 4 people, how many have you sponsored?
3.You must be doing something wrong!
4.They aren’t going to want to do this.

Have these thoughts crossed your mind, ever?

Now is the time to get rid of those thoughts. You can’t control your circumstances. Life is not fair. You have to decide to change your life and circumstances. It is a choice.

Lance Armstrong was told He would never ride a bike again after his diagnosis. If he had listened to the doctors, do you think he would have accomplished all he has? No! He decided he would beat it and did all he could to fight.

Our mind set can help us succeed beyond our wildest dreams or just the opposite. It can hold us back.
Our past can not be changed, no matter what. It got you where you are right now. So work with what you have and decide where you want to go.

It really is a choice we have to make for ourselves.
Are you ready to change your mind set?

Are you ready to blow it out of the park with your business?

Have an abundance mentality.

Be powerful not Powerless.

I believe you can do it as long as YOU BELIEVE YOU CAN and DO THE WORK to achieve it.

It is your time to succeed. There is no better time than now.

Are you in a business that requires making contacts to grow your business? Do you ever feel like the phone weighs 500 pounds?
I hear from people that they are afraid to make the phone calls they need to make because they are AFRAID that the person will say NO. Ever had that thought?
If we are honest I bet most have had issues with picking up the phone. I will admit I have had this issue. BUT NOT ANYMORE!

I just finished reading the book called GO FOR NO, by Richard Fenton. Have you read it? Go to your nearest book store and buy it today.I got mine on Amazon.

This book is for anyone who has to face rejection, the novelists looking for a publisher, the network marketer building a team, the entrepreneur looking for venture capital, the student raising money for the school band or the parents trying to get their kids to eat peas. This book is for anyone who wants to break through self-imposed barriers and achieve everything life has to offer.

Remember for every NO you receive, You are closer to a YES!

If you have read this book or recommend another one please comment below. Everyone will benefit from sharing personal development books that have helped you.

Webster’s Dictionary gives the definition of satisfaction as fullfillment, gratification, contentment or compensation. As you work toward your dream, do any of these words help you feel like your dream is satisfying you?

When you realized what your dream was did you finally feel complete? If your dream was to find and marry a soulmate and you are married, then you ought to feel contentment. It doesn’t mean your life will always be perfect but you know you are on the right track. A happy marriage gives you a feeling of satisfaction, fullfillment and contentment. Your commitment to this dream gives you the passion and the willingness to make sacrifices to keep the dream.

I believe this will hold true for any dream we have for our future. Ask yourself, “Am I willing to pay the price for my dream?” If you hesitate to answer yes, then your dream may need to be rethought. There isn’t a single person in the world who has achieved a dream without paying a price to reach it. Some pay with their lives or their freedom. Others pay by giving up options or finances or relationships. Again I ask, Are you willing to do whatever it takes, give up whatever you have to, just to make your dream a reality?
“Every journey toward a dream is personal, and as a result, so is the price that must be paid for it”, a quote from John Maxwell’s book, Put Your Dream To The Test.

Look at how many people change their careers after years working in another profession. They go back to school and get another degree or maybe they just change jobs to something completely opposite of what they have done for years. Why does this happen to so many people? I believe it is because we were living someone else’s dream for us. Parents (I am guilty) sometimes tell their children from a young age, “You are so good at talking to people, I know you would be great in a sales position”. Maybe we convinced our daughters to be teachers because that is a great job for a working mom. I taught school for TWENTY years before I finally left. I always wanted to be a mom so I listened to my parents and that is exactly what I did. Was I happy, not really. I should have gone to school and learned about working with the elderly because I love helping them now. I volunteer with senior citizens because that brings me joy to help them.

Dreams must have a strategy to achieve them. There is no magic power in having a dream. You can’t just wait for it. You have to work for it. Mary Webb said, “Saddle your dreams before you ride them.” That means we need to plan to plan. Most people neglect to plan. In John Maxwell’s book, “Put Your Dream To The Test”, he devotes a whole chapter on strategies on how to plan.

If you hate what you are doing in order to pursue your dream then you are on the wrong path. Try to discover why you have set your dream as your goal. Are you paying too high a price for your dream? Maybe your problem is your attitude. The most reliable way to reach a big dream is to broaden yourself.
Never forget that the greatest reward of pursuing a dream is who you become as a result. And that is a good thing, because when you achieve your dream, the world is a better place.

God Bless You in your journey toward your dreams!

The great men and women of history were not great because of what they earned and owned. They were great because they gave themselves to people and causes that continue to live on today. Their dream was to do something that benefited others. Their dream lives on after them because they lived for others.

The ability to answer yes to this question, “Does my dream benefit others?” has been a journey for me. When I was younger I admit I had dreams but in the end the dream was all about what I would achieve and how I would benefit. As I have gotten older my dreams are still there but now I am wanting to help others to acheive their dreams. Instead of thinking “What can I get from others?” I am asking myself,”What can I give to others”? I think that has put me on a better track. Being selfish sure didn’t get me closer to my dreams at all.

Mother Teresa once said, “A day lived without doing something good for others is a day not worth living”. That hit me hard the first time I read it. I read it daily as my mantra.
Thomas Edison said,”I never perfected an invention without thinking of how it would benefit others.” Have you been confronted with that decision?

A dream isn’t worthy of a person’s life if it doesn’t benefit others. I believe that is why we are here: to help other people. I know that is why I am here.

If I can help you in anyway, please contact me.
God Bless!

In John Maxwell’s book, “Put Your Dream to the Test”, he shows us how to do the things needed to make your dream come true. He starts out with 10 questions. He calls this the Dream Test.
1. The Ownership Question: Is my dream really my dream?
2. The Clarity Question: Do I clearly see my dream?
3. The Reality Question: Am I depending on factors within my control to achieve my dream?
4. The Passion Question: Does my dream compel me to follow it?
5. The Pathway Question: Do I have a strategy to reach my goal?
6. The People Question: Have I included the people I need to realize my dream?
7. The Cost Question: Am I willing to pay the price for my dream?
8. The Tenacity Question: Am I moving closer to my dream?
9. The Fullfillment Question: Does working toward my dream bring satisfaction?
10. The Significant Question: Does my dream benefit others?

If you can answer yes to all these questions (check the book for the additional statements) then the odds are very good you will see your dream come to fruition. The book has 10 chapters to cover each question. If you have ever read any of his books then you already know what an awesome writer he is and how thorough this book will be. I highly recommend this book as one that you should purchase this week.

Accountability means accepting full responsibility for the consequences of our actions, and facing ourselves with the highest
degree of integrity.

Accountability is not an easy challenge. It requires us to exit our comfort zones, and to fully recognize all of our hidden motives,
agendas, and excuses. In a society that tends to focus on blaming the other guy, it becomes increasingly important for the individual to take responsibility for his/her own thoughts and deeds.

Universal law states that for every action there is an equal reaction. Those that recognize this fully appreciate the responsibility for
every thought, word, and action they take. With this wisdom comes forethought, restraint, and awareness of intention. These moments of honesty and ownership give a sense of empowerment that can’t be found in continually playing the role of victim. Although it can be difficult to face situations with total honesty, it feels good when we do. Accountability is the first large step in reclaiming personal power and freedom.

Exercise:

Pay attention to an area where you have not accepted full accountability for your actions (and we all have at least one if we
are honest).

How have your thoughts shaped your intentions and actions?

Reflect on this and then make a statement accepting accountability for your role in this. How does this action affect you emotionally and spiritually? Have you allowed others to have power over you? Even when we are wronged by others, we have a choice to do
the right thing, or to justify the wrong ones.

You have a choice. What will it be?

God Bless!
Beverly

T.S. Eliot said,”Whatever you think, be sure it is what you think; whatever you want, be sure it is what you want; whatever you feel, be sure that it is what you feel.”

Anytime you see people making a midlife career change, you can almost be certain they have been living someone else’s dream and lost their way.

Parents mean well when they encourage their children towards a career. Children see themselves through the eyes of their parents or role models so it’s no surprise that many times they go down the path that their parents wanted for them. These are the adults we see with the mid-life career changes.

When the dream is right for the person and the person is right for the dream, the two cannot be separated from each other. You have to own your dream! That is the key that opens the dream to everything else. When you own it your passions will increase which make you set the goals, and develop a strategy to acheive it.

Do you own your dream? Are you willing to do whatever it takes to acheive that dream?

Will you share your dream with me? I would enjoy hearing you tell me all about it.
